River View Campground, Lake George, New York

A couple of nights before we left Accord, New York, Joe decided to treat us to pizza.

This restaurant was just about 2 miles from our campground. Pizza is Joe's favorite food. I believe in organic foods if available , so this was a great choice for both of us.

We arrived at 7:30, a bit late for us, but all pizza places are open until at least 10:00. Right! When we walked in the door, they told us they had ran out of dough. They make everything fresh in the morning. When things are gone for the day, there gone.

They had some pre-cooked slices left. We pick out one each and they re warmed them up for us. There was only one supreme left. Joe and I both wanted it, but I claimed it first. I liked my slice, but Joe didn't like his slice, because it didn't have very much meat on it, except bacon. We both were looking forward to a whole pizza so we could have left overs. The place was going to be closed until  Monday, the day we left,so we couldn't come back. I guess we should have checked it out sooner. Anyway I recommend this place if you are in the area. It is located on Hwy. 209, in Accord, New York. A young couple own and run it. They live upstairs. They are trying to provide the freshest, and organic food possible.

We head north for three hours.

And entered the Adirondack Park, The Six Million Acre Park Of  Public and Private Land

Our next neighborhood is four miles north of Lake George.

The Hwy from Accord to our campground was three lanes all the way.

We arrive at River View Campground. This is not a Thousand Trail Park.

Joe paid $2 extra a day for a river view site. While setting up I saw a father and his daughter floating down the river in life jackets.

We were given site # 18.

To get a site with sewer, it was $4 extra a day, so we are dry camping again.The campground is $40 a day with a river view but no sewer. We have to drive on the grass to get to our site.

The river makes a large curve around the park. This is a view of some of the park, looking from our site. The river runs in front of these RVs also.

As we took a walk, I looked back at our Nest, through the pavilion.

In the middle of the park we found direction and miles to destinations from our backyard.

They have a nice clean pool, but a bit small.The park is very well kept, with grass cut and maintained.

We walked to the front entrance, while walking Mallery. I didn't get the big sign, because it was on the wrong side of the Nest as we drove in. McDonald's is right next to the park. I am sure we will have  our $1 menu lunch one day, while here.

Then we walked to the river beach.

White sand has been brought in for the river beach. The park rents out inner tubes to float down the river.

From the beach, we walked back toward our Nest.

We like our spot under the tall pines. But hope we don't get dripping sap on our home and car.

We saw tubers and a canoe floating down the river on our day of  arrival. Temps were in the mid eighties. Joe broke even with Thousand Trails Membership on our 2nd day at our last campground in Accord. We stayed there for eight days, so five days were free. From now on, all Thousand Trails Campgrounds will be free. The problem is there are no Thousand Trail campgrounds in New Hampshire, or Vermont. There is one in Maine, and some in MA. and New Jersey we will be using. Even though we will be ahead of the game with the membership, we don't know if we would buy it again, if we had it to do over again. It kind of cramped our schedule. We would have like to been further along than we are, and in cooler weather than we have been.
