Kaweah Park Resort, Three River, California

Thursday 4/12/2012

We got turned around from our boulder mishap ( previous blog) and turned at this sign for Kaweah Park Resort in Three Rivers, CA.

We drove down about a block to another park sign and turned again into the park.

Kaweah Park Resort register office.

I checked out the pool while Joe registered.
We were given a pull through spot. Because it was still out of season, we paid $30 a night. This park was not a Good Sam's, Passport America, or ROD member, so we paid regular price.
After setting up, we walked over to the stream front, RV spots for $35 a night. We decided it was not worth the extra $5 to sit next to the stream.

Two identical RV's. They probably know each other. There was a Jazz Festival going on the weekend we were there.
View of the stream joining the river along the park boarders.
Cows grazing on a very steep foothill across the river from us.
The sites all along the river are tent sites. During the summer the river front sites run $53 a night.
The Kaweah River dumps into the Kaweah Lake that we saw on our way to Three Rivers, CA.
A horse on the property behind the park. I think they have horse back riding services at a business behind the park.
Kaweah Park Resort also has a motel.
View of Sequoia National Park from Kaweah Park Resort. The tent sites behind the riverfront tent sites are $38 a night in the summer.
I love all the white trees in the park.

When we were in Sequoia, I asked a ranger what was the name of the trees that had white bark. She told me they were California Buckeyes.
They have really cool looking bark.
This is a very nice park, but a bit pricey. But I guess not pricey for being so close to Sequoia National Park with full hook-ups. The summer RV site rates are $41 to $46 a night. Cheaper than the river front tent sites, so I guess you can't complain at that.
