Neahkahnie Wayfinding Point

Thursday August 2, 2012

We needed groceries and the closest full service store was in Seaside, which was north of Paradise Cove Resort and Marina.

The drive to Seaside was on a curvy  17 miles of road, so it took longer than normal.

Seaside has a population of 6,457.

After we got our groceries, we headed back home. We made a couple of stops along the way.

Haystack Rock stands at 235 feet.

Many sea birds nest on this big rock annually.

Hwy. 101 takes you through a mountain.

The Historic Highway Site Rockwork is a must stop between Cannon Beach and Manzanita, OR

The lookout is on the west shoulder of the Neahkahnie Mountain at 1661 feet.

A good view of the Coastal Mountains.
The town of Manzanita is visible in this picture below on the coast. (I will blog on the town of  Manzanita in an upcoming blog) You can also see the Nehalem Bay that our campground is on.

Zooming in on Nehalem Bay trying to find Paradise Cove Resort and Marina.

There it is. I spotted it from the big white pole building that is above our site in Paradise Cove Resort and Marina.

As we cross the Nehalem River bridge I took a picture of Wheeler, OR. (I will blog on Wheeler later)
