Diamond Point Resort, Sequim, WA

Wednesday 9/5/2012

We left Forks, WA for our next home town of Sequim, WA. On our way there we went past Crescent Lake on Hwy. 101.

Sequim currently has a population of 6,606 people. The town is located near the base of Olympic National Park to the north. Because the town receives 15 inches or less of rainfall, it has become a popular retirement of people from California and the Puget Sound area. It is referred as the blue hole of Sequirm because it is surrounded by some of the wettest temperate areas in the continuous United States. Sequim 's largest age population is at 58 years old.

Our neighborhood in Sequim was 12 miles east of the town.

Diamond Point Resort is a ROD campground, so we stayed free for a week. We could have stayed free for 2 weeks, but we didn't have time to stay any long.

The resort had a nice sign, telling us where to stop and register. Just what we like to see.

Joe went in to register at the office.

While he registers, I walk Mallery, so she could relieve herself, and saw this sign on the bulletin board. Someone told me later that two deer had been taken down in the park by the cougar in the playground area.

The in roads were gravel and the sites were pretty close.

We were given site 96.

I got my tomato plants out, to enjoy the sun, that the area was having.
The park does not have a pool, but has a jacuzzi.

Diamond Point Resort sits on a hill above Discovery Bay.

We drove down to Diamond Point on the bay to investigate our new neighborhood.

The city of Port Townsend is located across the bay at the end of the peninsula point.

We arrived in Cheney, WA today which is 10 miles SW of Spokane, WA. We will be here for a week before we start are long trek back to Iowa.
