While we were still staying at Canyon Lake, we did a scenic loop drive. Our first stop was at Blanco, Texas. The town square had a small art and crafts salel going on. We browsed around a bit,
then headed back to the car.
The Blanco Restaurant looked like a nice place to eat at,
but we had brought our lunch, so we headed toward the Blanco State Park instead.
The Blanco River flows through the park.
There were people swimming in the river that day.
The falls were pretty mild that day.
On a good day, they would look like this. The park also has a RV campground if you want to stay in Blanco, Texas.
We continued on the scenic loop drive on Hwy. 32.
Nice home on the top of the hill.
Hwy. 32 takes you up Devils Backbone. At the top we stopped at a roadside park for this view.
Not sure why there are crosses and flowers on the fence at the roadside park.
At Hwy. 12, we turned north toward Wimberley, Texas,
as we decend down Devils Backbone.
The first Saturday of the month from March to December, Wimberley has the 2nd largest Flea Market in Texas.
You can find just about anything that you are looking for at this market.
Do we go this way or
this way? The place is so large, you could get lost in this maze of vendors.
A steel rod is placed through the drain hole to balance these pots this way.
This sign is right on!
If I had a yard, I'd buy one of these butterflies.
Before we left, we found a map of the market, which has over 400 vendors.
After leaving the market, we stopped and walked around the downtown of Wimberley.
We had to drive back up Devils backbone to get back home.
We took Hwy. 3424 to get back to Canyon Lake.
A glimpse of Canyon Lake to the right before we go down the hill.
