Toqua RV Camp Ground, Vonore, TN.

We left Kampvilla RV Park in Heiskell, TN., and drove 51 miles south to Vonore, TN.

Our park was just 3 miles off Hwy 411 on Hwy 360.

Joe and I were having a problem finding a campground in this area. A blogger I follow had just written on "How to find your perfect campground". After checking out a couple of his suggestions, we found Toqua RV Camp Ground. It helped us find this really nice park!                       

Joe said the guy who registered him in, said the park is only 6 years old.

The park sits on Tellico Lake and has views of the Smoky Mountains off in the distance.

The sites are gravel, except for a few paved sites, which we think have been purchased by occupants. (But not sure on that). If you are given site # 321, you won't be disappointed.

The park has a beach with the swimming area roped off from the rest of the lake.

The rules in the park said dogs could run loose on the peninsula, so during our campground check we let Mallery loose. Unfortunately the peninsula is full of Canadian geese poop, so that was the last time we walked her on the peninsula.

The park has a small marina to dock your boat ( I am sure it cost extra for a boat slip). There is also a fishing dock in the park.

The park also has a boat ramp and plenty of parking for your car and boat trailer.

The park has several small inlets.

We even had a sidewalk that ran behind us and beside us. The only thing we could figure out was that it must be for handicapped accessibility.

That evening I took Mallery out for her after dinner walk and the lake views were very photogenic.

The lake was very still and the lighting was perfect for this beautiful shot. A very light sprinkle started to fall,

making me look up to see this rainbow. I didn't see the double rainbow until I looked at this picture.

We had reservations here for 3 nights, and wished we had made our stay a bit longer.

The campground was a bit pricey for us at $37 a night for full hook ups, but as the old saying says, "You get what you pay for"!
