Our Current Home At Buck Creek RV Park, Marion, NC

After a week in the Carthage/Pinehurst area of NC, we hit the road for a new adventure. Our Nest took us NE to a Super Wal-Mart in Hickory, NC  for one night on I-40. We got there just before the rains hit. The next day we continued on I-40 and got our first visuals of the Appalachians Mountains, though it was pretty fogged in.

Our drive was a short drive to Marion, NC  just NE of Asheville, NC.

Our campground is located just east of Marion off Hwy. 80.

Buck Creek RV Park is a 74 full -hook up campground on a 48 acre estate. The park sits at 1,434 ft above sea level, and is at the foothills of the Appalachians.

Joe found this campground on the internet. The rate is $40 a night. If you stay a week at regular rate, the 7th night is free, making the cost $35 a night for a week.

We were given 3 sites to pick from, and I picked #61.

Back on the other side of the meadow and walking back up the park road to our site. 90% of the RV's that are here are here for the season. The first day we arrived and up to Thursday, there were only 3 to 4 RVers staying in there RV's. Most of the sites are very well maintained by their RV owners. This RVer has built a very nice deck. There are two swimming holes in Buck Creek along the campground.

Buck Creek has a constant flow at this time, though the current does not show in the pictures.

We get back to the gravel rode and continue back to our Nest. Can you see our nest at the curve almost at the end of the road.

This 5th wheel owner has put in a new deck, landscaping timbers and bushes, and has a cover on his RV.

 The first day we arrived, it was a cold, cloudy and windy day with highs in the 50's. This is a view of our new backyard.

Our bedroom backs up to the creek. Unfortunately so far, the nights have been to cold to have the windows open and enjoy the sound of water flowing over the rocks in the creek.

Almost every evening we are visited by 2 to 4 turkeys eating from our meadow.
