We continued on our walk. |
We found a trail behind our house that went deep into the woods. We came upon a small lake. I got my phone out and google mapped the lake, and found the lake is Mud Lake. |
Then we came across Dyer Creek that empties into Porter Creek which empties into Lake Charlevoix. |
Our Birch trees were turning orange at this point. The large Maple was turning orange at the top. |
Once Joe got back, the two guys pulled the shore station out with a four wheeler. |
On a day trip to Petoskey, I got this picture of Walloon Lake. |
Still some color on our drive NE. |
Our fall has been exceptionally nice, compared to past falls, we have been told. |
Still much color in our side neighbors yards. |
On this evening, the sun lite up the north side of Lake Charlevoix. |
We have never seen it look like this at sunset. It was just spectacular. |
Just a pretty salad Joe made for us for lunch. |
Another walk from our house down 2 blocks and up a big, big, big hill, and here we are out in the country. |
There's the big hill. This is a picture after we have walked back half way down the hill. |
I guess the peak color peaks in different areas. We though it was all over the week before. |
Joe continues the close-down duties for winter, draining the hose and unhooking the water pump house in his waders. |
Oh to be back to household chores! |
Oh my, What a beautiful part of the county you guys have chosen to settle in. I don't think you could of done any better. Loved the redo on the master, very well done. In time you will over look the imperfections that are bothering you and be happy with it over all. I went through the same thing with my kitchen gut job remodel. I hated the backsplash and other little things here and there. Now I like the backsplash. I also reminded myself how fortunate I am to be able to have a beautiful new kitchen when there are so many people in the world who don't even have a home. Anyway I think both bathrooms are fantastic and I can't wait to see how the kitchen comes out. I will offer some advice on the kitchen. I spent a ton of money on fancy high end crown molding on my cabinets, Solid slab Granite counters and to die for Cherry Cabinets and other pricey touches through out the kitchen but in the end I wish I would of paid more attention to the functionality of what I installed. It's gorgeous to look at but not as cooking friendly as it could of been. so you need to find a compromise. Oh and there is no such thing as to much lighting in a kitchen. Don't skimp on it. I hope Mallery enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving dinner! This year we are having a family reunion in Las Vegas for Christmas. Hope you all have a Happy and Blessed Christmas . HO HO HO Leslie +_+
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie, I know what you are saying, I have been telling the designer, functionality is more important than beauty, I guess because presently it is very nonfunctional, it makes me aware of the importance of it. Yes you are right, I need to be grateful for what I have, and foring being so blessed. And thanks for reaffirming the need for lights. That was a big deal for me in the bathroom. Our contractor thought we were overdoing the lights, but I love having lots of light. Hope you have a wonderful time with your family in Las Vegas. What a good idea for a family reunion.God's blessings to you and your loved ones!
