Rocky Mountain "HI" Campground in Kalispell, Montana

8/8/10

It was time to leave Flathead Lake and head further north.
One last look at this beautiful lake.
Views as we left and headed to our next destination.

A short 18 miles to Kalispell, Montana, just north of Flathead Lake
Our next campground was Rocky Mountain "Hi" Campground. I will show you around.
As you drive into this park, you see:

a stream to the right,

with a bench to enjoy the sounds of a running stream.
The stream is very clear, like the lakes in this area.

A pond is to the left. The children were having a great time in the pond.
Nice laundry facilities.
A nice playground for the children.
We took a drive into Kalispell to check out the town of 14,223. Joe spotted this guy "hang'in" around the downtown buildings.
After our drive into Kalispell, we drove to the Swan Range Mountains,
to see Swan Lake.
Swan Lake is a beautiful lake located in Northwest Montana. Relatively remote and isolated; it is a long way to the nearest large town from Swan lake - it sits surrounded by tall, heavily forested mountains. The water itself is extremely clear and is quite cold throughout the year. The small town of Swan Lake, MT, sits on its eastern shoreline. The lake is quite large, more than a mile wide and ten miles long, and is very deep. There is good hiking and fishing around the lake.
