Lobster Buoy Campsite, South Thomaston, ME

We were getting ready to leave Patten Pond Campground in Ellsworth, so I took a final picture of our up front site before we left. We would come back to this campground, but ask for a spot back by the lake. It's a very nice place to stay.

Our drive was relatively short, like Joe likes it! (he does not like driving the big bus, but loves to see new places). Our drive was about 65 miles south, just past Rockland, ME. In this picture we are on the road just about to our next home.

Joe told me that our next campground was located on an ocean bay. The homes along this road  were old time farms or very tired looking homes.

The campground was located in South Thomaston on the Penobscot Bay

Joe found this campground on the internet. There were no Camp Club, Passport America, or Thousand Trails Campgrounds in this area. (All camp club memberships we belong to). A picture of our new place.

Joe registered and Mallery checked out her new digs! Joe had told me, from a review on the internet, all sites had great views of the bay.

We were given site 14. The campground is set up with water and electric only. There is no sewer hook ups. There is a dump station for when you leave. If you have a blue or grey water wagon, you can roll it to the dump station.

We were so so so BLESSED. Site #14 sat directly in front of the bay.

This was our view from our front window. It just does not get any better.

After setting up, we went out to the beach. (Dogs are allowed on the beach on a leash-though Malley didn't like it because it is a rocky shoreline) I was looking to the left on the beach in this picture. The tide was out.

The campground is a mom and pop's campground, that has tried to maintain it that way. The original owners have past away, but is still kept very low key with no advertising in any campground books. The owner was out mowing that day.

Everyone we met, said they had been coming there for 20 to 30 years.

As the evening rolled in, so did the tide.

When the tide was fully in, there was no more beach with the Atlantic Ocean lapping at our front yard.

This place was a real treat because with all our travels, there have been only three other places that we sat on the ocean for a reasonable price.
