| We moved to Styx River Resort the day after Christmas because Blake's mom and dad were coming from Iowa. We needed to get out of the driveway for their new company. |

| There are 8 resorts in the southeast of the US that we can stay at for free for 21 days. Then we have to leave for 7 days, or we can go to one of the other 7 resorts for another 21 days. |

| During the summer there is tubing down the river. The resort takes you up the river and drops you off. |

| We took B9. I do like that this park is on a hillside. When it rained, we were not sitting in a pool of water the next day. The only disadvantage is the resort is 50 minutes away from the girls and the coast. The membership also give us access to Resorts of Distinction for free, and North America Camping Club, and Coast to Coast for rates at $10 to $20 a night. We are hoping that within two year, we will break even with the cost of the membership. Then we will be really saving money. |
My boyfriend and I are thinking of spending three nights down here. Do you need a membership or can you just rent a cabin? And if so, do you happen to know the cost of the membership and if it is worth it for like, 1 vacation we'll ever take? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if they let people rent cabins unless they have a membership. You might be able to stay there if you agree to go on their tour and talk to sales person about buying a membership. They let nonmembers come and stay in the park in their RV's for 3 -5 days if they take the tour and listen to the sells speech. If you do that, be very careful, as they have ways of talking you into buying a membership. I don't think it is worth buying a membership, unless you want to stay in the park at lest 3 to 4 times a year. You get a lifetime membership, but the price of $7000 to 10,000 can take a lifetime to break even unless you use the facilities a lot. You also have to pay annual dues of about $400 a year. remember if you do the tour and get talked into buying, you have 3 days to break the contract. We bought a membership and used it constantly because we are full time RVers. It took us 2 years to break even. For most people it is hard to break even with the annual dues.
