Lake Coeur d' Alene Cruises

Thursday 10/10/2012

The next day while in Coeur d' Alene, we decided to take a cruise to see the lake from the water. There is parking next to the dock, but Joe didn't want to pay for parking, so we left early from home and found free parking on the other side of the City Park. We were almost to the boat when we realized we had forgot the camera. Because Joe has longer legs and can walk much faster, he had to walk back across the park to retrieve it.

I went ahead and boarded the boat and saved a table on the top deck. It always pays to arrive early, for these kind of things that always happen. You can board the boat 30 minutes prior to the cruise.

The cruise boat sits on a dock next to the Coeurd' Alene Resort.

Views of the mountains as we left downtown Coeur d' Alene.

View of beach from the water.

And view of homes west of the beach.

Can't remember the direction of this view.

We reached the west coast of the lake, then cruised south on the west shore of the lake.
Somebody was putting up some pretty big Christmas decorations.

This was the biggest home we saw on the lake.

A lot of the homes had very steep stairs to their home from the lake.
Another pretty nice home on the lake.

We crossed the lake toward the east shore. This is Arrow Point Resorts on the lake.

The resort sits on a point between the west and east shore of the lake.

Arrow Point Dr. from the water.
We are not sure if this is a home on the point or a apartment of the Arrow Point Resort.

As we got pass the point, we could see I-90 on the east shore of the lake.

During the summer months, there are 5 different cruise lengths.

Since we were there in October, there was only one daily cruise.

Homes line the east shore of Lake Coeur d' Alene.

The luxury lake front  condos, Coeur D'Alene.

There are 30 condos with 25 units having 6,296 sq ft and 5 having 8,310 sq ft.

The condos cost between 3 to 5 million and have membership to the resorts golf course, pools, spa's, fitness center, and tennis courts. The resort has a floating green as seen in the picture above.

As we headed back to the landing dock, we cruised pass one of the oldest neighborhoods on the lake,

with beautiful old homes.

We then went past Tubb's Hill. Do you see the people standing on the rock's? I didn't see them either, until Joe pointed them out.

I zoomed in to see them better. Tubb's Hill is 135 acres of land that the city acquired and made into a public urban wilderness area for residence and visitor use.

Tubb's Hill sit right next to the Coeurd' Alene Resort.

Our cruise lasted for 90 minutes and cost us $20 each.

We land at the dock next to the City Park and head back home for lunch.
