On our last day in Bellaire, we drove to the downtown area to check out what the town had. We heard there was another B&B so we drove to the area that we were told it was located. |
A long tree line drive up to the B&B. |
Nice big front porch to relax and read a book on a beautiful summer day! |
A covered porch leads to the rest of the B&B behind the main home. |
The B&B is just a few blocks from downtown Bellaire. Each Bellaire banner had a different business name on the bottom of it. Bellaire has a population of just a little over 1,000 people. |
We decided to come for dinner since who knows this could be our hometown some day. This has to be the strangest looking menu I have ever seen. |
This was the list of different beers that the brewery makes. |
I asked for a sample of the Black Licorice Lager, |
I ordered the Puerto Rican Power for dinner, and Joe ordered the Old Man Thunder. |
Mine was good, |
but Joe's was awesome. Next time I am getting what he got! |
A live band was getting ready to play as we were leaving. There are several other restaurants downtown, as well as a few shops and an ice cream parlor. |
On the way back to our campground we took a side road up Shanty Road. We heard this was another area that brings lots of tourists to town. |
The Legend Golf Course is up the hill in the Shanty Village area. There are 5 to 6 golf courses located in or near Bellaire. |
It looks like a real challenging course. |
The Lakeview Hotel is in the Shanty Village where most people stay at in the winter for the ski resort. |
A view of the top of a ski run that keeps the small town of Bellaire busy with tourists in the winter. |
