Gruene Hall & Fredericksburg RV Park

                                        Monday 4/8/2013

On our last day in canyon Lake, we drove back to Gruene, Texas. I wanted to spend the day checking out the shops.  After shopping we went to the Gruene Hall, which  bills itself as "the oldest continually operated dance hall in Texas".

The Gruene Hall was open to the public that day, so we went inside to check it out. The dance hall had long wood tables.

The side of the hall have large wood windows that open from the bottom to the top outside.

View from the stage looking toward the bar.

No bar stools  at this bar.

Large outside area for over flow when big bands are playing.

Gruene Hall was used as the set for "Michael" with John Travolta.

                                     Tuesday 4/9/2013

The next day Mallery stood in the bus doorway, waiting for her Dad to get behind the wheel for our next destination. (A blogger friend posted on FB a new App that makes photo cartoons. The next few pictures were taken using the Android app called Cartoon Camera).

Our drive to Fredericksburg , Texas was a short hour drive NW from Canyon Lake on Hwy. 290.

Fredricksburg has a population of 10,530 people, and was established in 1846.  The town is also notable as the home of Texas German, a dialect spoken by the first generations of German settlers who initially refused to learn English.

We are presently staying at the Fredericksburg RV Park .

Joe said we splurged and are paying $34 a day to stay here. He is not impressed, no concrete pads and the patios in his opinion are a joke.

Our present address is  # 93 Allegro Alley.

The sites are pull through and are very long. Look at all the space we have in front of the RV.

The sites are very fine gravel.

Just up from our site is a small pond and a fish pond.

As soon as we walked up to the fish pond, the fish came swimming up to us. When didn't have any food, so we couldn't feed them.

We liked these signs some other RVer had out on his patio!
