Albuquerque, NM.

9/7/09

Off to Albuquerque, NM.
Looks like a commuter train to Albuquerque.
Yellow landscape with some small green bushes and a few small sagebrush & mountains in background. Entering into Albuquerque, NM., a city of 700,000 (including suburbs). Heading to our campground, just west of the city. This cloud looks like Crazy Horse Monument. Our Campground, Enchanted Trails R.V. Park & Trading Post located on the famous old Route 66. Big campground, but with nothing but gravel and a few trees. Our spot had no tree, and the temp is in the high 80's. After setting up, we headed back into the big city, to do some shopping and then to meet one of Joe's old high school friend's for dinner.

Heading back into the big city in our car, with windows down ( air conditioning not fixed yet). Joe and Rick ( Joe's old buddy) took the car in this morning for an insurance quote on the Honda damage. It's going to cost around $2000, minus our $250 deductible, to get our side kick fixed. Now we are headed to Rick's house to visit and then to do a walk on a trail. On a trail in the Petroglyph National Monument Park. We saw lots of these millipedes. Yuk! Joe and Rick on our dusk walk. Rick is Park Ranger in this park, with the basic job of law enforcement. Pretty sky. I am told to watch my steps for the rattle snakes. Joe, Rick and Ember his dog. Rick points out all the petroglyph's as we walk the trail. Joe and I would have never seen all the ancient picture's on the rocks drawn by the Indians. More neat sky's A face, a snake with a bird, and a turtle. Looks like deer or antelope along water. Looks like a mountain lion and a face.

On the walk back, Rick told me the snakes like to eat rabbits. I quickly picked up Mallery and carried her till we got back to the car.
