Sonoma Coastline/South of Jenner Part 2/ Wright Beach & Campground

Sunday 6/10/2012

This blog is continued from the previous blog. We are traveling down Hwy. 1 from Jenner, CA. This was a home along Hwy. 1 across from the ocean.
As we traveled south, we stopped to check out Wrights Beach Campground.
Most of the sites are too small for a big rig, except two sites. This site, # 13 is plenty big. It does not have a ocean view, but if the site in front of it is empty, you have a ocean view.
The view from the site in front of #13.
View of Wrights Beach
Lots of beach flowers up by the parking area.
Dogs are allowed on Wright Beach on a leash.
You are recommended not to get in the water here, because it is one of the most deadly beaches in California. You are not even recommended to turn your back on the ocean because of sleeper waves.
We got back up to Hwy.1 and I got a picture of Wright Beach and Campground from above.
You can see how there is shrubbery for privacy between the campsites.
Our next stop was at Duncans Landing.
Lots of wild flowers at Duncans Landing.
A view of Wright Beach from the south of it. Wright Campground is in far upper right hand corner of beach.

I had more pictures, but Blogger is acting up again. This is the secound group of pictures I uploaded for this blog. For some reason after this picture, when I added new pictures and the caption, it would put the picture at the top of the blog. Than I would copy and paste it back to the bottom of the blog. After doing this with several pictures, it would start deleting pictures, so I started a new blog. Now it is doing the same thing, so I am ending the blog, and going to bed. I guess I will make a Part 3 for this blog instead. Spell cheak has not been working on it either. I am getting a little annoyed with Blogger these days Good night!

Sonoma Coastline/South of Jenner, CA. Part 1

                                    Sunday 6/10/2012

On the last day at Duncans Mills we took a drive along the coast, but this time south of Jenner. Before we arrived at Jenner, we headed south crossing the Russian River.

At the top of the hill, Joe spotted a vender park on the side of the road selling some smoke salmon.
The first beach that we came to was Goat Rock Sonoma Coast State Beach.

Dogs are not allowed on Goat Rock Beach.

Looking south from Goat Rock Beach. There is no charge to use the beach.

Wild flowers along the sand dunes behind the beach.

Mr. Gull posing for a picture, and hoping for some food.

We parked in Blind Beach parking lot and enjoyed our lunch with this view,

as the waves crashed apon the beach.

There were surfer at Blind Beach.

Dogs are allowed on a leash on Blind Beach.
As we left,, I took another picture of Goat rock beach from high above.

I love the colors of the Pacific Ocean.
At the top of the hill above Goat Rock and Blind Beach, there is information about the territory of Mountain Lions in California. The yellow and orange on the map shows where Moutain lions roam. We were in Mountain Loin territory.
There is also information about the trails that are along the coastline. We wished we had come here the first day, so we could have fit in a few trails while we were there.
This map shows all the beaches south of the Russian River outlet.

The next beach we visited was Shell Beach.

It was quite a walked down to get to the beach.
Almost there!
" I'm hot mom, let go back to the car"!

It was a beautiful day, not too hot or too cold. Just right! For Mallery it was too hot! To be continued:
