The Branson Landing, Branson, MO

                                      Friday 6/28/2013

We are now in Branson West, MO., but the internet is very slow. I uploaded these pictures for this blog, only to find out later that they were not saved because the internet connection was so weak. So I finally uploaded them last night again and made sure they were saved. In this blog, we were still at a campground just south of Omaha, AR. On this day, we drove into Omaha, only to fine really nothing there.

From Omaha, AR., we drove into Branson, MO. for the day, which was 20 miles north from our resort.

Northern Arkansas and southern Missouri are all hills.

I had been in Branson some 37 years ago, but Joe had never been there. We first went to the visitor center, to get a map. You really need the city map to avoid the heavy traffic roads.

We then drove to the Branson Landing.

It sits along Taneycomo Lake and has lots of great shops. This is a look south from the center.

And a look north from the center.

In the center of Branson Landing there are condo's and fountains.

Under the condo's, there are restaurants. Because we had no groceries and needed to shop for them, we decided to eat out for lunch at the Gourmet Mexican Food.

We chose to eat outside, with the lake and fountain views. Sorry no pictures of what we ate, because it was almost 2PM, and when our food came we both dove in, devouring it before we though about pictures. The food was just OK. We are very hard to please!

After lunch, we walked on the dock so I could get a lake side picture of Branson Landing.

This fountains was designed by the same company that built the famous fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. During the day, the show is pretty minimal. But in the evening, I think it is a better show.

The water in the lake is pretty clean and clear.

We continued our walk around the Landing and found a Joe's Crab Shack. If we had known it was hear, we might have ate there. We have yet to eat at one.

There is also a Old Chicago Pasta & Pizza.

If you don't have a RV, I would stay at the Hilton, which is just across the street from shop row on the landing.

Up from the Hilton, is the Historic Downtown with yet more shops.

We didn't have time to shop because this day was a scout out the territory day. Before we headed home, we found the Super-Wal-Mart in Branson for our groceries.

On the way home we drove back up Old Hwy. 65 and took these next two shots. Old Hwy 65 sits much higher than Hwy 65, so you get some great vista's.

As Joe drove I tried to get a few more pictures, but they were blurred. But I did see a heart with an arrow in the clouds, so I had to post it.

That evening the sky was filled with puffy cotton ball clouds back at Ozark View Resort.

We also spotted another turtle crossing the yard on the resort grounds. Luckily for this turtle's sake, there was no 12 year old fighting ninja's in the park. (You'd have to read  my blog at http://diane-j-m.blogspot.com/2013/07/ozark-folk-center-mountain-view-ar.html to understand this last statement).
