Lazy Acres, Urbana, IA.

                                 Sunday 7/28/2013

After spending 2 weeks at Squaw Creek in Marion, IA (a suburb of Cedar Rapids, IA), we had to leave. The park rules are that you can only stay for 2 weeks. Parks do this so people don't book up the park all season, or make it their permanent home. We had seen all our Dr, dentist and etc., but Joe had to return to the dentist for some dental work, and also return to his eye Dr. for some laser eye surgery on one eye. We decided to move out to Lazy Acres north of Cedar Rapids, just off I-380.
I have blogged on this park before, but there has been some new additions, so I decided to do another post on it. This is our view out our front window looking toward the office and the park host or owner's RV. As you can see, the pull through sites are very long.
The camp host/ or owners have built a nice enclosure for their 5th wheel RV. They are here from April 1, to October 31 (which is also when the park is open), and then they go south for the winter.
View of the park looking out our front door toward the north and corn fields.
Someone is very handy with woodworking.

If you have young kids, they will love this park.
The Petting Zoo has all kinds of animals to pet.

This swing really works! Joe, Mallery and I sat in it and got it to swing. Not very fast or high, but it does swing.
Cute flower garden and watering can. The lawn is maintained impeccably.

View to the NE toward the 3 cabins and pond.

Tent area near the pond, light house, and cattails.

Pond with the 3 cabins in the background. They have paddle boats to use on the pond.
Gazebo overlooking the pond.

Mallery gave into her desires.

She really got into it!
Oh how she loves Iowa grass, it just can't be beat in her opinion.
Most of our travels, especially in the south just does not have carpet thick soft grass. She knows she is back home, and she just can not get enough of her home sweet home environment. I know it reminds her of her old big back yard.

Joe and I are patient, because she has waited a long time for this treat.

"Oh Mom is this heaven?"

"Oh yeah it's Iowa! Heaven on earth to me".

"Mom, do you have to keep taking my pictures while I lose control, and beside my hairdo is a mess now"!

"Come roll with me, it feels sooooooooooooooo good".

"OK, lets continue our walk. Sorry, but I got a bit carried away".

Sand box and boat swing/gym.
Trampoline with wood play car in the distance.

Pavilion with covered bridge that crosses over a drainage ditch in background.

Horse shoe pit, volley ball, and Frisbee course.

Wood train play gym.

Miniature golf, and a shopping cart ride that is hooked to a tractor for rides.

Another homemade ride that is pulled behind a tractor.
I give this park a 8 rating. The only reason it does not get a 10 is because it is 20 minutes from Cedar Rapids, ( we like to be closer when we are visiting our mom's)  and it does not have cement pads or patio's. We paid $27  a night, and we used our Sam's Club Memberships. This park received a most decorated park award recently. It is seconds off !-380, so a great location for a quick on and off stop.
