Colter Bay Campground, Grand Tetons

7/8/2010

We camped just out side of Jackson Hole last night at the Hoback Campground, so we could get to the Colter Bay Campgrounds in Teton National Park by noon. The campground is a first come first serve, no reservation campground, and since we are in the prime season, we wanted to arrive early.

We entered Jackson, Wyoming, but didn't stop and just rolled through. We will drive back for a day visit later on this week. Jackson has a population of 8647 and is at 6209 feet above sea level, as you can see from the sign.
We pass the Tetons before entering into the park.

This place is very impressive.
After dinner we walked down to Jackson Lake and enjoyed the views again.
People ask us where our favorite place is that we have visited so far. I have to say this is the most beautiful place I have seen so far.
A father and sons skip rocks on the water. If the mosquito's were not biting we would stay longer, but they are out in a mighty force tonight. The only negative of this place so far.
Our spot at Colter Bay Campground. No hookups for $20.00 a night. Pretty pricey for no hook ups. If you what to have full hook ups, it is $55 a night.
