We drove from Port St. Lucie to Ft. Pierce Inlet. We stopped at a beach and looked toward the inlet. You can see the water is very shallow in the beach bay next to the inlet. ( No dogs on this beach) |
At Jetty Park, the sign says no animals on the beach. I brought Mallery today, because I knew there was a dog beach down the road. At this park, I carried her so her feet didn't touch the ground. |
Very nice park next to the inlet, with restrooms and pavilions. |
There were several people walking their small dogs on the jetty. |
Yes, the beach waters are shallow here on the beach side. |
We walked out on the jetty. Looking back, you can see the water on the inlet side is very blue. The beach side was very cloudy because it is shallow and the waves were stirring up the sandy bottom. |
There was another jetty running parallel to the beach. |
Yes, that's me carrying Mallery. |
We saw a lady on the beach with a large dog running free. A good sign! We let Mallery off her leash. |
Joe and Mallery running down the beach. |
When we first got on the beach, Mallery was still hot from the long walk in the 87 degree heat. I dipped her in the water. She was full of energy from then on. |
There were more shell here, than I had seen anywhere on the Atlantic side of Florida, to this point.. |
Just down about a mile from the secluded spot, we came to Walton Rock Beach. |
I knew about this beach, but I wanted to find somewhere that Mallery could be off her leash. |
The owner of this monster told us his dog weighed 202 lbs. |
A sign on the dog beach said that dogs were to be leashed. |
No one had their dogs leashed. Next time, we will just come here, and not worry about our car. |
Lots of coral in the water on the dog beach. But if you walk far enough to the north, you will end up walking where we just had walked. |
I was also told you could go to Jensen Beach and walk your dog. You had to park in the gravel part of the parking lot to the north to get to that beach area. |
We parked in the gravel area and walked to the beach. A sign said, " no dogs on the beach". |
I looked up the beach and didn't see a dog in sight! |
There were several surfers on Jensen Beach. Joe said he read, that the waves on this part of the Atlantic Coast is best for surfers. |
