Rancho Mirage, CA.

4/11/2010

We settled in at the Desert Pools RV Park in Desert Hot Springs, CA. Joe had quite a time trying to get the Direct TV satellite setup. We stayed two nights here as the Passport 1/2 savings was only good for two nights. ($15 per night). The parks in roads are gravel which Mallery does not like. The laundry was $1.00 per wash and dry which is cheap, so we got our laundry done. They had a hot mineral pool straight from the underground source but we didn't get around to check it out.
This is a picture from on top of the hill in Sky Valley. We checked out Sky Valley RV Resort but their Internet signal was so so. We then checked out another RV park just across the street from Desert Pools that had a better Internet connection. After two days we moved to that park. As with Desert Pools it offers the Passport America Discount for up to seven days ($23 per day).
I got a call from the Rhumatologist that I had seen in Newport Beach and he said a Lyme's test had come back positive. He wanted me to come in for a re test. I told him we were 2 hours away. He told me I needed to find a lab that could redo my blood work, to make sure it was positive. After we got back to Desert Pools, I went to the office to find out where the nearest blood lab was located. Then went back to the nest to schedule the blood work.

The nearest place for blood work was in Rancho Mirage, which was about 15 - 20 miles away.
On the way, of course we saw more wind turbines. Beautiful mid 70 day. But lots of scattered clouds. Entering into Rancho Mirage. Lots of nice landscaping and palms. And fancy buildings. We arrived at the Delores Hope Outpatient Care for more blood work. This health care complex has Bob Hope and his wife Delores name on many buildings. Beautiful drive heading back to Desert Hot Springs. All the streets in Rancho Mirage are named after old famous stars. I hope you enjoyed the ride into Rancho Mirage as much as we did!
