On our last day in Florence, OR., we decided to go to Old Town in Florence. |
We cross the Siuslaw River Bridge again to get to Old Town. It is a Art Deco style bridge. |
Historic Old Town was a 1900s fishing village built along the Siuslaw River. |
We decided to have lunch at the well known Oregon Coast restaurant Mo's. |
Mo's is located at several locations along the Oregon coast. |
Mo's serves their World Famous Clam Chowder, so of course I had to try it. It was good, but in my opinion the "Maine Diner", in Wells Beach, ME. still has the BEST Clam Chowder! |
Joe had the Oyster stew and thought is was ok. |
From Mo's you can see the Siuslaw River Bridge. |
The Siuslaw River Bridge has more personallity than your average bridge. |
The Siuslaw River Bridge replaced ferry service in 1936. |
The Siuslaw River Bridge is 1568 feet long. |
Old Town has a lot of fun shops and boutiques. It also has lot of eateries mostly at the south end of the main shopping street. |
In one of the shops there was a bee hive that was built inside the shop. |
The bees came in and out as they pleased through the pipe that went directly out doors. Of course they also sold honey products. |
